Called And Gifted Workshop - March 2017

by Charles Forest

The St Swithun Wells Called and Gifted Process resumed in March 2017 with a Weekend Retreat at St Edward's. The participants were led through a number of teaching sessions, given by the dedicated diocesan team, to recognise the activity of the Holy Spirit in their lives, and to discern the Charisms, or Gifts of the Spirit, that they might possess. The weekend also included praise and worship, opportunities for private prayer, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, meals and fellowship. Here are some of the reactions from those who attended:

"The speakers were inspirational in helping us to identify and discuss the spiritual gifts we all possess but find difficult to recognise and apply in living our Christian lives." John Williams

"The week-end was extremely well organised with excellent Teachers and very meaningful content, I did not want it to finish. I am so pleased I have experienced this time with such special people and look forward to what may come out of it in the future." Susie Warwick

"It was very well prepared and presented and was an interesting weekend with thorough and informative talks." Anne York

"Thought provoking!" Kath Cole

The participants will now each receive a one-on-one interview with a trained interviewer from the diocese, to help further in the identification of charisms. Following this there will be the opportunity to join a small group to compare notes whilst exploring their charisms in a structured manner..
