THE CENTENARY OF THE DAUGHTERS OF WISDOM

The centenary of the Daughters of Wisdom will be celebrated at a eucharistic service in Romsey Abbey at 3.00 pm on the 26th of June 2011,and followed by a reception at Wisdom House.  All the parish are welcome to attend.

100th Aniversary of The Daughters of Wisdom

On 26th June 2011 the Daughters of Wisdom celebrated their 100th Anniversary in Britain and Ireland with a Mass in Romsey Abbey. The Mass was celebrated by the Archbishop of Westminster, Vincent Nichols, and Priests from various parts of the UK. After Mass the Centenary Garden was officially opened by Sr. Jean and Councillor John Burgess, Town Mayor of Romsey. The Celebration was followed by a reception in the grounds of Wisdom House which lasted well into the evening and was attended by guests and parishioners.

CaFE.  The Wednesday group has now finished.  Many thanks to Sheila & Denis Keefe for running this group for many years.  Is there anyone who would like to run a CaFE group?

Youth Masses at St Andrew’s/St Joseph’s.  There will be a meeting on Sun 19th June at 19.00 in St Andrew’s Church  for all youth who wish to participate in youth Masses at St Andrew’s to discuss what they would like to get out of the Masses.  Everyone welcome.  Please email if you can come at emily.kenyon@hotmail.co.uk

Christian Aid Collection: Totals collected by our Catholic communities were £188.82 in North Baddesley and £575.47 in Romsey.  Thank you very much to all who helped.

First Holy Communion

 On the 26th June 2011, The Feast of Corpus Christi, children from St Andrew's, St Joseph's and Holy Cross received their First Holy Communion from Father George and Father Michael.  Quote: This was an amazing moment which no words can express, let their souls rejoice and let the grace of the Lord be with them.
